Selena Gomez must trust Justin Bieber. Video Recap on Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend"

Last night I watched Justin Beiber's video for Boyfriend which by the way was weird and probably has Selena Gomez throwing some expensive trinkets at him right now.
I've always wondered how actors and singers who are involved or married to someone in real life can smitten with someone else and not have their significant other get pissed at them. Recent examples are Robert Downey Jr. kissing Gwyneth Paltrow especially when Downey credits his wife as being so key to helping him break his addictions (Wikepedia.com), Christian Borle from Smash kissing every male that walks by when he's married to a woman, Will Smith when he treats Jada like she's his Queen (which is how a man should treat his wife FYI). I just never understood why. Oh okay, it’s their job, but I knew a kid who wanted to have his first kiss be with his wife so when he was in the lead of a musical at his school, Singing in the Rain—a fantastic musical BTW—he faked the kisses by turning away. So it’s not just the job there are ways around it because I’m pretty sure once he does get married, if he continues in theater he will probably want to keep only kissing his wife. But respect and honor to the woman who are able to date or marry these desirable men because having the trust they do for their men to be able to allow them to still “do” their job is crazy. And vice versa; I don't know how Nick Cannon and Jay-Z do it with Mariah and Beyoncé. Major trust!

But JB's Boyfriend was a weird video for me. It was literally the "guy" video: fast expensive cars, big flashy watches, a base that is so powerful that water bounces off of it, random icicles...not sure what that was about, maybe to prove he can buy "ice" for girls, a girl who will snap if you handle her too roughly because she’s way to damn skinny, and sexual whispering.

The video starts off with a recently turned 18 year old JB whispering in the ear of not one but two females during the first verse, then flashes, as if you blinked and missed something, and starts the song all over with a slightly different video—cue cars, dancing, glasses coming down slyly as he sees a girl, and JB singing to her.

First off that flash was a little weird, and second of all whoever did this video, wait it says in the video let me look...yeah by some hack named Director X...lame, definitely was trying to make Justin look older and failed miserably. Mainly because of the fact that he and Selena just moved into Aston Kutcher and Demi Moore's old house a few months back and if you know how much that house cost, we all know JB is a grown man now. But he tried to through in all the flashy unobtainable things men want but sadly, only immature boys who are either stars or drug dealers have and it only made him look immature. It already seems as if he's shooting for an older sound with his album Believe but keeping it down to earth with lyrics we hear and see in Boyfriend that keep it funny and cool like "chilling' by the fire while we eatin' fondue" and "I can be your Buzz Lightyear fly across the globe." See, ridiculous but catchy. But if he is going for an older sound having him and a bunch of other people who are young adults but look like they're 14 driving cars is not the way to portray he's older. Seriously, these kids looked very young but I know they have to be around my age and I’m only turning 20 in November.

I like the song but that video was ridiculous. The only thing that remotely went to the song was the singing in the girls ear because you do get the impression JB is trying to whisper naughty secrets but instead he's making plans to treat a girl right, which is kind of cool and still sexy all the same. But I give Selena some cred through, trusting her man to stay true. JB, you better not screw up, or if she pulls a Tiger Wood’s Wife on you I’ll be buying her the golf clubs. Savvy?

"Chameleon." Where is the inspiration going to come from next?

If you really know your entertainment, you know when it comes to movies there is hardly anything “original” anymore. Most movies come from well-known or little known novels and short stories that someone interpreted into a movie. Actually, I wrote a monologue for a class project last year and a friend of mine who also happened to be my partner on the assignment is now transferring it into a script because he thinks it would make a great short film. Most of these scripts end up generally taking this first stop in which after that is the film festivals all around the world where they hope someone will go, “Oh! I’d like to see that on the big screen!” Examples of these type of movies would be The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. I can’t think of any non-horror that have come from film festivals. Even Tim Burton’s 9 was originally from a film festival, and that’s a creepy movie as well. Not too many people have the resources to go straight to the big screen and those that do are either smart or lucky or both. But most movies either come from a short film adapted from someone’s written work, or just from someone’s written work skipping the whole short film section which is rare sometimes. Most of the time adaptations that go straight to the big screen are from authors that have some street cred or have stirred the population like Nicholas Sparks or Suzanne Collins.

Screentrant.com sees short films differently though, “The casual moviegoer may consider a short film to be anything that plays before a Pixar movie, but the more enthusiastic cinephile understands that short films can sometimes be more exciting, interesting, and have a better story than the average big budget blockbuster film.” And that can be true a lot the time. Sometimes we wonder why haven’t certain short films that get watched get a big budget so they can expand on the story and Screenrant.com writer Paul Young asks us if Chameleon, by director Sam Lemberg could “be the next short film to get a big screen treatment?”

Chameleon is based off the short science fiction story by Colin Harvey and “picks up seven months after a hostile race of aliens have invaded Earth and the government fears that the aliens are modifying their DNA to pose as humans. After military officer Herb (James C. Burns) mysteriously reappears months after being abducted, his wife Emily (Lucy Rayner) is called in to ask him questions only she would know to find out who or what he really is” (Screenrant.com). This short film keeps you guessing all the way up until the end, even if you read the free short story first.

I liked both the story and the film because, as most films do, the story gets twisted a little but in a way that makes it better. But you don’t have to take my word for it; you can go ahead and check it out for yourself. But is Paul Young right, is this another sci-fi big budget waiting to happen, or is it to remain a short film that will be adored by film festival goers until the next film festival? Not GGP...but GPP! Podcast Recap on "A Guy, A Girl, and A Podcast" (SPOILER ALERT!)

Alright first thing’s first: YES ANTHONY! I can hear you! I turned this episode up thinking it would still be low. So my computer is at 90 and suddenly I hear—“Dud-Dud—Dud-Dud-Dud-Dud—Dud-Dud-Dud-Dud-Dud-Dud”—like extremely loud and I had to quickly turn it down. So in the words of Mayhem from the Allstate commercials, “You’re good!”

Second of all, since my wife obviously wasn’t paying attention I’ll repeat it. Christina is missing this week because it’s finals week and unlike Brandon, Anthony, and I, she is actually taking classes that she actually has to study for. =P I normally don’t put faces but it made my wife laugh and I want to make sure everyone know that it was a joke at the expense of the Guy, the Producer, and I.

That being said this was the first episode of A Guy, A Producer, and a Podcast, otherwise known as GPP; and instead of being the comedic geniuses they normally are when Christina is in the seat…sadly I just realize I think Christina is the more quirky one that keeps the craziness going even though the guys say she’s the “glue that holds them together;” the men decided to focus on a more serious topic, that kind of started off as a “let’s make fun of this,” but turned into a “okay we seriously need to see what this is about.” Childhood obesity. Apparently, I believe Idaho, is banning bake sales from schools to help stop childhood obesity. Don’t quote me on that, go listen to the podcast for yourself.

Let’s face it though, it is a problem, and I don’t blame the food I blame the fact kids don’t go out and play anymore. They’re all stuck inside on our laptops typing up blog post, or on our cameras making silent films, or in the studios recording podcast…please tell me you saw what I just did there. Thanks Christina, you weren’t there to help make the jokes and now I’m being the funny one.

But seriously, this is a problem and I’m glad that Brandon and Anthony decided to talk about it and politics and other “ooh, I don’t want to touch that subjects.” But like Brandon said, and I’m paraphrasing, we should be able to use these mediums to sit down and talk about the serious taboo stuff that people want to stay away from. It was an episode where they wanted to see how well serious would do for their show and it worked in many ways.

I enjoyed it, while I was playing WOW, and don’t write me off yet, I was paying attention, so much that I got off WOW to type this post instead of waiting until later. While it didn’t have the usual organized chaos that normally comes with GGP or GPP…ha, that’s cool…it still had its moments that made me laugh and I, being the egomaniac that I am, got mentioned twice in it! WOO! Go me!

Near the ending of the almost hour long episode, they ask us to give them feedback about the episode on their iTunes page, their Facebook page, their twitter page, and now you can leave feedback here as well in the comments box because they’ll see it here too. In my opinion blog readers, it was a great episode and I enjoyed it, sometimes you do just need to take a seat back and show that there is more to you guys and that’s what you did. You’re an entertainment podcast but you guys also show there is much more to you and I can compare it to the first two years of college. You may not always want to take those classes but you need to be well rounded and at least have the ability to say you took it and here’s why you didn’t like it. Just like the podcast; I came expecting to hear you guys talk about The Avengers because I know Brandon at least went to see the midnight premier and I’m pretty sure he dragged Christian along with him. Shoot, Anthony seems like the guy to drag his wife to the midnight showing, and so I was expecting The Avengers to be talked about. But I got something so much more and coming from a family that does have weight problems, I’m self-conscious about myself even though I’m skinny as all get-out as well. But I also worry about my soon to be born baby girl who is going to come into a world that has these problems growing more and more each day and, for her, both sides of her family has weight issues as well, so it’s something I will have to help her work on if she does become overweight and doesn’t like how she looks, or is skinny and thinks she needs to keep losing weight because anorexia and bulimia are just as big as problems too.

Let’s face it, weight, up or down, is a problem. We’re a society that gets off on looks half of the time and it’s okay until it because serious to where girls are throwing up because they don’t look like the supermodel who is most likely starving herself as well. Man, right now I feel like listening to Selena Gomez and the Scene’s “Who Say’s” because that’s a great song. I’m pretty sure she wrote the song for Demi Lovato for those of you that know the two of them were friends and the reasons why Miss Lovato went to rehab. So in reality and long story short I’m thanking you guys for that episode. Thank you.

Sequels: Do they stop?

So when I took my film and arts class in high school, the one thing that I actually gained out of that class is that if you make money you make a sequel, hands down that's what the rule is. So I don't know about you, but I sure the hell noticed that sequels are coming from the left and from the right and now they're even being planned before the original comes out…for movies not based off of already written material. Some movies like Lemonade Mouth, Kick-Ass, and Harry Potter and other favorites are working close with the original author to put out another book or graphic novels so they can make more movies. They’re even milking Stephenie Meyer as well for another Twilight book and God forbid that happens. As it is Avatar, the dumb blue people movie, is also getting another crack so whatever. Come on James Cameron, why don’t we just make a Titanic 2 as well? Join the craze. If any of you have seen the Who Framed Roger Rabbit? the 1988 Robert Zemeckis directed and Disney film they were talking about a sequel back in the day for that movie and thanks to all the reboots and sequels that have predecessor that are ten years old or older, they’re considering making the sequel for that movie again as well. Not that any of the kiddies now days know what the movie is or what it’s about, but if they’re looking for more money, bringing the original out on Blue Ray will allow all the kids to get caught up on the original so they go see the new one, or they could just bring back out re-mastered in theater. But seriously!? So my question is where do they stop?

I mentioned in the Looper trailer post that Bruce Willis is planning on doing a fifth Die Hard and since it will make money the will most likely be a sixth but if so Willis said it will be the last one, or he won’t come back for a seventh, and it’s not hard to replace an actor so who knows what they’ll do when that time comes in the next five years. But as of right now, it’s just in the talks and director-less but they are planning on doing a Terminator 5, which, I haven’t seen any of the movies before, but I heard Salvation was good and it looked awesome from what I saw of the previews. At the time the movie came out I was into The Sarah Connor Chronicles and that was a pretty good show for the two seasons it was on. James Cameron (ugh there is that name again) was talking to Arnold Schwarzenegger about returning to the series only if it was based off of his character.

“‘I was talking to him back in the fall about a new Terminator film and quietly advising on that,’ says Cameron. ‘I was trying to be as encouraging as possible. Frankly, at that time I thought it needed to be more about him. I told him he should not do it until it’s focused on his character,’ he continues. ‘I think there are some great stories that can be told about that character that haven’t even been thought of yet’” (Totalfilm.com.). In my opinion he’s a robot bent on either killing or protecting the Connor boy so what really more could they do with the story? But like I said, I’m speaking from someone who hasn’t seen the movies so I need to get on that. But it’s an Avengers week so I really don’t care.

Anyway, the question still remains where do the sequels stop? Dear God, Saw already did Saw 3D making it the seventh movie, and on opening night of Paranormal Activity 3 the creators already said they were planning on the fourth and it was announced in January that it’s coming out in October. Then again those are horror movies, already known for going on and on but the Saw creators said if they could think of something new they would come back. But unlike Marvel who is using the sequels Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and Captain American 2 for the next Avengers movie, others are just making sequels just for the money. Don’t get me wrong, Marvel is looking for more money too, but come on how many sequels are they going to do before they stop? And once they stop are they going to pull a The Amazing Spider-Man and reboot only a few years later? I don’t know. Let me know what you think below. Assembled Perfection! Movie Recap on "The Avengers" (SPOILER ALERT!)

That was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time! The Avengers, what can I really say about it but WOW! Holy crap that was a fantastic movie! And either I didn't really pay attention to the movies or the news or they seriously kept it under wraps but I re-watched Iron Man 1and 2 before I went to go see the movie on Friday and realized they were planning The Avengers movie this whole entire time. And after watching the finished product of all the separate movies coming together as a whole in this one humongous but great explosion, I'm excited to see what plot they will draw together through Captain America 2, Iron Man 3, and Thor 2 then drop another explosion in The Avengers 2. Wow!

This movie wasn't just perfect because it had some of the most badass heroes in superhero history, but because it made me like them. Honestly, I'm more of a DC fan. When it came to Marvel I was a Spider-Man and X-Men fan...I guess I like hyphens; and to me, a demi-god as a super hero was stupid, having a man in a metal suit was dumb and a hacker attack waiting to happen, Cap was just a solider with super strength, and the Hulk, well I didn't see how a crazed ragging monster could be a hero. And let's not forget Furry, for lack of better terms—he's a dick! But my perspective on them all changed with each movie.

I saw Iron Man screw the heck out of some terrorist and make a crappy but still awesome prototype in a freaking CAVE and still be an arrogant SOB, but a cool arrogant SOB. I saw Captain America show how much he wanted to fight for his country, fall in love with a tough lady, and still be a down to earth guy with a lot of power. I saw Thor become a mature king and never give up on his brother, adopted or not. I saw Banner show just how smart he was, show how controlled he could be, fall in love with a woman who understands and screwed the government in the process. I saw the Hulk show there is a little intelligence up there and he can fight for the right reasons and he can protect those that Banner cares about. And Furry...well he was still a prick. And I was going off the recent reboot of The incredible Hulk, FYI; the one from 2008 starring Edward Norton. I didn't see the other one, I heard it sucked. But when it all came down to the Avengers themselves I still thought they were a dumb idea, I thought it was just Marvels lame attempt at a Justice League, but I said I'd give it a chance and with each commercial I started wanting to see the movie more and more and I'm glad I did because two things happened: I saw the greatest superhero movie yet, and I started liking Furry.

What was so great about the Avengers was they all didn't just show up when Furry called. One by one they came for different reasons and butted heads because of all their differences but through the movie they worked through it and became a team for Earth. But what was great about this movie was that even though it was about the team each character had their own back stories that still pushed the movie along. Black Widows feelings for Hawkeye, Iron Man fighting for more than just himself, Banner making a friend in Stark and also stepping out of his shell and finally blending with society again, Thor finally realizing just how much his brother hates him but still holding onto the idea he can be saved showing just how much he's matured and how much he loves his adopted little bro, and the Captain finally coming back to a world that's changed in what seems only a matter of minutes for him but in reality has been 70 years. And Furry, Furry showed just how much he cared about the world and even though he has all his secrets and own agendas he still believes that the world can be saved with as few casualties as can be not like The Council who wanted to Nuke New York. Furry wanted soldiers who can stand against anything and are ready to stand against anything. The stories were all intimate and deep and all the actors acted their butts off making you go along for the ride. You felt sad with them, you were elated with them, and you definitely avenged the world with them. It wasn't another action movie where the girl was a weakling and the only sex appeal and lots of stuff blew up, no; it was a movie that had a story to tell but still also gave you the explosions and action. And Miss Johnson played a beautiful but dangerous Black Widow who didn't just get by on her looks. It proved she's one of the baddest spies out there but will do anything to protect the man she cares about, including knocking him around for a bit into a metal railing.

The movie was also eye candy, I saw it in 3D and it was the best 3D I have seen yet so if you haven't seen it in 3D you need to. The graphics were fantastic and there was a lot happening but you were able to see it all as well and when things were supposed to pop out at you, they really popped out at you. The avengers had great comedic timing as well proving once again that it's not one of the standard action movies. Seriously, some points just made the whole audience laugh to the point when another character started talking you missed what they said because you and everyone else were still laughing. Like when Hulk totally destroyed Loki, tossing him around like a little rag doll. Then when he walks away I believe he says "Hulk Smash" nonchalantly but I wasn't sure because we were all still laughing so we couldn’t hear him.

It was fantastic and I could sit here on my wife's old Honda all night and type on my iPhone about this movie and still never get across how good it was. Rotten tomatoes gave the movie a 96 and I see why and you will too if...oh screw that, if, IF!? WHEN you see this movie, because you will see this movie! SO GO NOW! ASSEMBLE WITH THE REST OF THE POPULATION! HURRY!

Seriously! The Avengers broke the record you guys! 200.3 million this weekend, beating out Deathly Hallows Part 2, which I’m really excited about because I despise Potter, by almost an extra 30 Mill (Ew.com). Try to tell me that doesn’t mean something! For Friday they’re still behind Potter with 80.5 Mill, but they hold the record for #1 on an opening weekend now and are the first to ever reach 200 Mill in an opening weekend (Ew.com)!

“There are many amazing things to be said about The Avengers’ performance this weekend. One that’s particularly impressive is the fact that the film dropped just 13 percent from Friday to Saturday. Compare that to the declines of some other movies with massive opening weekends: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 (down 53 percent from Friday to Saturday), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (42 percent), The Dark Knight (29 percent), and The Hunger Games (25 percent). ‘It’s not playing like just a superhero film,’ says Dave Hollis, Disney’s executive vice president of distribution. ‘It’s playing like a huge, accessible-to-everyone, all-quadrant picture’” (Ew.com).

Until next time, unlike my wife who said, "It was just another super hero movie," According to Michael III, this is not just another super hero movie, it's the best super hero movie around...until The Dark Knight Rises possibly…I’m not so sure, The Avengers may have Batman beat.
